Locatie: ik woon in centrum Antwerpen, en verplaats me met de fiets/het openbaar vervoer.

Ervaring: dankzij mijn opleiding ben ik in staat medische handelingen uit te voeren zoals injecties, de blaas van uw huisdier ledigen, dwangvoeding toedienen. Ook kan ik met moeilijke en angstige dieren om (hierbij blijf ik altijd rustig en is mijn filosofie dat niets de schuld van het dier is).

Beschikbaarheid: als student ben ik vaak doorheen de week beschikbaar voor wandelingen, en gedurende schoolvakanties voor langere periodes. Maar twijfel niet om het toch na te vragen!

Duur: een wandeling is minimum 1 uur (op een veilige locatie voor mij en het dier). Een huisbezoek minimum 1 à 1.5 uur. Bij huisbezoeken kan ik bv ook post uithalen en planten water geven.

Location: I live in the centre of Antwerp and get around by bicycle or public transport.

Experience: thanks to my education I am capable of performing simple medical procedures, like injections, emptying your pets bladder and force-feed your pet. I am also experienced with scared and agressive animals, my philosophy here is that nothing is ever the animals fault. 

Availability: as a student I am often available during the week for walks, and for longer periods during school holidays. Don't hesitate to ask about other availabilities though! 

Duration: a walk is an hour minimum, at a safe location for me and your pet. A home visit is 1h to 1h30. When doing home visits, I can also empty your mailbox and water plants for example.

Over mezelf: 

Sinds kort heb ik besloten mijn Pawshake account terug te activeren. 

Ik groeide op tussen dieren, en zocht hier altijd contact mee. Als kind had ik vissen en degoes en woonden we naast een boer die kleine en grote herkauwers had, waar ik op vrije dagen bij ging helpen. Zoals gezegd had ik eerder al een Pawshake account, wat superfine was omdat ik dagelijks minstens een dier bezocht/uitliet. 

Ondertussen deed ik nog meer ervaring op, zowel in buiten- als binnenland. Zo woonde ik in Vietnam, waar ik vrijwilligerswerk deed in een dierenasiel. Hier deed ik ervaring op met dieren met allerhande karakters, en lichamelijke beperkingen. De dagelijkse verzorging van de dieren besloeg niet alleen het voederen en drinken geven, maar ook pampers vervangen, kinesietherapie toedienen enzovoort.

Nu studeer ik Agro- en Biotechnologie. Binnen deze richting studeer ik binnenkort af als Dierenverzorger. Ik deed stage in het dierenziekenhuis Frégis in Parijs, op de afdeling Nieuwe Gezelschapsdieren en rondde onlangs mijn stage af aan de afdeling Voortplanting en Verloskunde van grote huisdieren aan het dierenziekenhuis van de UGent. Ik heb dus hands-on ervaring met allerhande dieren (reptielen, amfibieën, knaagdieren, honden, katten, kleine en grote herkauwers, varkens en paarden).

Dankzij deze stage en mijn studie ben ik ook in staat verbanden te wisselen, injecties toe te dienen (subcutaan of intramusculair), alsook dwangvoeding toe te dienen en de blaas van uw huisdier te ledigen (dit enkel op voorschrift van uw dierenarts,  ik ben NIET bevoegd om medisch advies te geven). 

Ik heb ook ervaring met moeilijke, angstige (of agressieve) dieren. Deze beangstigen mij niet en ik zal uw dier altijd met geduld en liefde behandelen. Binnen mijn opleiding valt ook het vak dierengedrag en dierenverzorging, en hoewel ik nog niet afgestudeerd ben, ben ik voor deze vakken al geslaagd. Mijn filosofie is dat het nooit de schuld is van het dier is, indien er iets zou voorvallen. 

Een wandeling bij mij is minimum een uur, dit zou altijd in de buurt zijn waar het baasje woont. Uiteraard houdt ik rekening met uw voorkeuren en staat de veiligheid van uw dier altijd op de eerste plaats.

Ook biedt ik huisbezoeken aan, de duur hangt hierbij af van wat uw dier precies nodig heeft. Minimum zal dit één tot anderhalf uur zijn. Eventueel kunnen ook planten water gegeven worden, of post worden uitgehaald. 

Mijn beschikbaarheid is zichtbaar op mijn kalender. Ik ben student, dus ben alle weekends sowieso beschikbaar (tenzij anders aangegeven).

About me:

I recently decided to reactivate my Pawshake account. 

As a kid I grew up among animals, and always looked to interact with them. I had fish and degus, and our neighbour was a farmer whom had small and large ruminants, which I helped with on my days off. As i said, I've had a Pawshake account before, which was a lot of fun, as I got to walk at least one dog a day (which - obviously - keeps the doctor away).

In the following years, I gained even more experience, both abroad and at home. I lived in Vietnam, where I did volunteer work at an animal shelter. I gained experience with animals with all kinds of characters and physical limitations. The daily care of the animals included the basics such as feeding and giving water, but also changing diapers, administering physiotherapy, etc.

I am now studying Agro- and Biotechnology. Within this field I will soon graduate as an Animal Caretaker. I did an internship at the Frégis animal hospital in Paris, in the department of New Companion Animals and I recently finished my internship at the UGent animal hospital in Merelbeke. There i was employed in the Department of Reproduction and Obstetrics of large pets. So I have hands-on experience with all kinds of animals (reptiles, amphibians, rodents, dogs, cats, small and large ruminants, pigs and horses).

Thanks to these internships and my studies, I am also able to change bandages, administer injections (subcutaneous or intramuscular), as well as force-feed and empty your pet's bladder (this only on prescription from your veterinarian, I am NOT authorized to give medical advice).

I also have experience with difficult, anxious and/or aggressive animals. They do not scare me and I will always treat your animal with patience and love. My training also included animal behavior, and although I have not yet graduated, I did already pass this subject. My philosophy is that it is never the animal's fault if something were to happen.

A walk with me is at least an hour, this would always be in the area where the owner lives. Of course, I take your preferences into account and the safety of your animal always comes first.

 I also offer home visits, the duration of which depends on what your pet needs. At a minimum this will be an hour to an hour and a half. If necessary, plants can also be watered or mail can be collected. 

My availability is visible on my calendar. I am a student, so I am available all weekends (unless otherwise indicated).
