Growing up in Transylvania I used to have animals running around the house, from dogs to cats to pigs and geese. Living in the city, this environment changed.
Since I moved to Brussels 6 years ago, I have been dog and cat sitting for my friends and I lived with a cat that belonged to my former housemate. I never dared to adopt a pet since I am on a traveling spree every few months and this situation would make their lives quite difficult. I work as a policy analyst and I am involved in different projects and meetings for which I have to fly out, where unfortunately I cannot bring a pet along. I spend most of my weekends in Brussels so I am very flexible to care for your pet during weekends.
I currently live in the EU neighborhood, in a rented apartments that is of walking distance from three parks (Cinquentenaire, Ambriorix and Leopold). When I return from my travels I like to be active, go out with my friends, run in the park, bike and shop at the local markets etc.
I love taking care of dogs and cats as it gives me a sense of purpose and joyfulness. I imagine the owner would like to know if their pet is in good hands so I am more than happy to send them periodic photo updates and call so that the pet hears the voice of the owner, which may help aleviate any possible separation anxiety.
For longer stays it would be important having met the pet beforehand, so we could make the stay more comfortable, ensuring they interact with someone they know rather than with a complete stranger.
In case the pet has special needs, allergies, habits and preferences, please let me know so I can provide them with the proper care.
Melinda took really good care of our dog. Our holiday was so much relaxing as every day we could see our dog very happy in the photos sent. We already know where our dog will stay during our next holiday ;)
