Hello my name is Jenifer, and I can understand how much your dog means to you, I own a dog myself. His name is Benji, he and I come from Ecuador; yes! I took my dog to the other side of the world with me, because without him life is not the same. At the end dogs are forever right? 

I've rescued different dogs in my country, so I have a good understanding of their behaviour. I can tell you my favorite part of spending time with dogs is realizing how each one of them can be their own character, there are the protectors, the leaders, the chillers, the goofy ones, the ones that need more attention, love and patience. Whatever personality your dog has is what makes it unique.

Since I joined Pawshake, I've had the chance to take care of many doggies too. Some very active, others more relaxed... but for my partner and I it's always nice to have share time with them. Let me describe you what it is for a dog to spend time with us.

In the morning we let them play in the farden or go for a walk,unless they prefer to be inside, once they come inside we dry their paws if it is raining outside and let them walk freely in the apartment. 

Normally they eat their food and chill or play with Benji. Their favorite spots are: the couch, the bed, the sofa cama, the carpet... wherever they feel like it.

If they love playing with toys we join for about 10 mins every now and then in the day.

On the weekends we love to take long walks (10km-15km) with the dogs and if it's ok for the owners I do little trips to the beach, take the dogs to the forest and cozy places to walk, we try that the dog feels the peace of nature and disconnect from the stress of the city. Normally we pack a bag for them it includes: water, food, snacks, a ball or their favourite toy, towels. Like I said for us Benji is our baby so we treat our 4 paws guests the same.

If the dog is staying long with us I also think it is important to keep their blanket clean, since they can drop some hairs and love spending time in the garden, so I don't mind washing it every week.

I try to be as communicative as I can. I tend to send voice notes about our the days or weeks of our visitors. And of course you'll be getting a good amount of spam about your dog staying with us.

In addition too I know what having a dog that needs extra care means, Benji is a rescued dog who due to his hard past now has to live with two injuries on his back, which don't allow him to control his poop or pee for that reason he has to use a diaper for life. So he is our baby, we have to clean him and change his diapers around 4 times a day. Don't feel sorry for Benji, cause after all he is a happy dog now, walking around with a diaper :P

ps: Couple months ago I've started working in a full time job, so we give preference to dogs that will spend the weekend with us, as I described above we like to do a short weekend holiday for your dog. However depending on our meeting moment and the chemistry between your doggie and mine we could plan extra days of the week.
